Last weekend Dillon Perillo from DC’s am surf team chalked up two great finishes at the Oakley Newport Pro, taking 2nd in the Men’s division and winning the Juniors division. Read on…
Dillon was surfing great all weekend at the comp, which scored a decent south swell and peaky, super rippable waves. He combo-ed his competitors—a 9.33 and an 8.83 (and a throw away 7.33!) to take the Juniors final.
"It feels great to get that first win out there," Dillon said. "There were so many good guys in that Final and I'm stoked to come out on top… I was in a really good rhythm for the junior Final and everything just went my way."
Success continued in the Men’s division as Dillon took 2nd. "It's a whole new level of surfing in the men's division and I felt like I had it in me, but Nate (Yeomans) was ripping and kind of unstoppable. Still, I'm stoked with 2nd and it's been a pretty good day for me all in all."
